Cory Deagle Seeking District 3 Nomination

Union Road resident Cory Deagle has announced his intention to seek the Progressive Conservative nomination for District 3 Montague-Kilmuir in the next provincial election.

Deagle said he wanted to give back to a community that has provided so much.

“I feel that I can make a positive difference,” said Deagle.

Deagle said the issues he wants to focus on include the high cost of living especially for seniors on fixed incomes, youth struggling to find employment to enable them to purchase a home and a long-term infrastructure for Kings County Memorial Hospital and Montague Consolidated.

“To help our rural areas grow and prosper, we need to centre our attention on the services that matter to residents. That’s why I want to focus on strengthening our access to good health care, good paying jobs and a new vision for education,” says Deagle.

A graduate of Montague Regional High School and UPEI, he is a former vice-president of the PC Party of P.E.I. and is an active community volunteer who serves as a coach and referee for minor hockey and soccer.

His community involvement includes having served as former president of the Montague Minor Hockey Association and as former chair of the annual Norsemen Memorial Hockey Tournament.

He is currently co-chairman of the annual Eastern Eagles soccer tournament.

The nomination will be held on March 5.
