Shamrock resident Carmen Reeves today announced his intention to seek the Progressive Conservative nomination for District 19, Borden-Kinkora, in the upcoming by-election.
“I’ve always felt that most significant accomplishments are achieved when motivated people work as a team so it’s no surprise that I was drawn to the collaborative leadership style of Premier Dennis King. Premier King and his government are realizing real results for Islanders and I want to be part of that as the next MLA for District 19, Borden-Kinkora, ” says Reeves.
Reeves recently retired from a career with the Canada Revenue Agency and he has been an active community volunteer for many years, both with the South Shore Minor Hockey Association as a coach and manager and with the Somerset Community Festival as a volunteer, presenter and emcee. Reeves has also served as a volunteer auctioneer for fundraisers and events with Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Summerside Capitals, and countless community benefits and fundraisers.
“I have a deep connection to people in every corner of the riding. As a lifelong resident of District 19, I understand the people, the challenges we’ve faced, and the fortitude we’ve shown. Simply put, I love my community. I want what is best for it. I know that the best way for me to personally contribute to that end is as the MLA representing the people in the district in the government of Premier King.” says Reeves.
Reeves lives in Shamrock with his partner Betty and their blended family of five children.
