Brendan Curran to Seek PC Nomination for Upcoming By-Election in District 2

Brendan Curran, a dedicated public servant and lifelong resident of Kings County, has officially announced his intention to seek the PC nomination for the upcoming by-election.

Curran brings a strong blend of grassroots experience, government service, and community engagement to his candidacy. A proud graduate of Montague Regional High School and the University of Prince Edward Island, Brendan has spent his career working to advance the interests of Islanders.  Most recently Brendan worked in the Office of the Premier; prior to this he spent years working as a Ministerial Assistant before moving on to being the Clean Technology Project Coordinator with the PEI Energy Corporation.

“I’m running because I believe in the power of public service and the importance of listening to the people in the district,” said Curran. “I’ve worked behind the scenes to help shape policy and solve problems for over a decade, and now I’m ready to take my experience and continue to serve the community in this new capacity.”

Outside of government, Brendan is a passionate contributor to the harness racing industry, a tradition deeply rooted in PEI’s culture and economy.

Curran and his wife, Kelsey are the proud parents of their young son, Oliver. As a father and community member, Brendan is deeply invested in building a future where families thrive, businesses grow, and every resident has a voice.

“I’m committed to working hard, listening closely, and delivering real results for Georgetown - Pownal,” Curran added.

The nomination meeting is scheduled for November 10, 2025.
